Pediatric Medical Lodging Assistance for Families Traveling to Care
The ELIJAH J. AUXIER FOUNDATION provides financial assistance to help families with the costs of temporary housing near the pediatric facility where their child is receiving treatment. Additionally, in Oregon, the Foundation makes Elijah’s Heart House available as a family retreat for a peaceful respite.
1. Complete the Application: The patient’s social worker or parent/guardian must complete the application and provide the requested documentation.
2. Submit Your Information: Please have any documentation of your housing receipts and information ready before beginning the application so your request can be fully considered.
3. Your Application Is Reviewed: Each application is reviewed individually. Our Foundation considers the needs of the family when determining the specific amount of the grant.
4. We Connect With Your Family: The foundation reviews applications and speaks with the family before or during the hospital stay.
If your application is pre-approved, the Foundation will respond within five business days.
Patient’s Social Worker or Parent/Guardian must fill out the form completely and submit documentation for your application to be considered for pre-approval.
The foundation gifts grants after we have reviewed and spoken with the family prior to or during the hospital stay. Each application will be reviewed and a specific amount granted according to the needs of the family.

You can apply for a grant on behalf of a patient and their family.
Elijah’s Heart House works with social workers and medical professionals to help families access assistance with temporary housing during pediatric medical treatment.
If you are applying on behalf of a family, please make sure the application is completed fully and that all required documentation is submitted.
