Supporting families when they need it most.

The Elijah J. Auxier Foundation serves families whose children are undergoing serious or ongoing medical treatment and must travel away from home for care.

In these moments, families are often stretched beyond their limits—navigating unfamiliar cities, medical systems, and unexpected costs while trying to stay present for their child.

Through a grant application process, families and hospital social workers can request financial assistance to help offset housing related expenses, allowing families to remain close, supported, and focused on healing. Our foundation is the only nonprofit in the nation dedicated to providing housing grants for families navigating pediatric medical trauma.

Medical trauma doesn’t pause daily life, it disrupts it. Parents are forced to make impossible decisions, siblings are separated, and financial strain compounds emotional exhaustion. Access to safe, stable lodging can mean:
